2024 Annual Meeting Follow-up
For those of you who were able to join us at our annual get-together, thank you for attending and for those who were not able to make it, we look forward to seeing you at future gatherings.
It was a glorious event. The setting was spectacular (thanks again to our hosts Barbara Thomas and Geoffrey Drummond), the weather could not have been better and the musicians (Laurie Anderson, Inda Eaton, Taylor Barton Smith and GE Smith) who so graciously gave of their time were marvelous. We were also pleased that we could provide you with an update on where the APC has been and where we are going.
We have some ambitious plans for the coming year. It is essential that we continue to provide financial support to Cornell Cooperative Extension for their work involving the installation of permeable reactive barriers in different parts of the harbor. We will continue to reinforce the message of “What you do on your property matters” by partnering with the Perfect Earth Project and ChangeHampton on sessions pertaining to environmentally sensitive lawn care and garden management. We will reach out to both The Springs School and East Hampton High School to work with us on projects related to the Harbor.
To move forward with these plans, we need your help. Your donations can equip us with the resources we need for the above projects as well as other efforts we are considering. At present, we do not have a membership fee so we rely solely on the beneficence of our supporters. We should also note that all of the expenses for the annual meeting were covered by contributions from our board members so your donations will go directly to support program efforts.
