APC Thanksgiving Greeting

With Thanksgiving just around the corner, all of us at the Accabonac Protection Committee want to extend our warmest wishes to you and your families. We hope your holiday is filled with gratitude, the comfort of loved ones, and the joy that comes from another abundant fall harvest — along with time spent in the outdoor spaces that make the East End so special.

As the air grows crisp and the water cools, we encourage you to continue embracing the natural wonders outdoors. Winter in Accabonac has its own quiet magic, and there are countless ways to enjoy it: brisk walks down Gerard Drive with friends, invigorating cold-water plunges, clamming and fishing, birdwatching, cycling, or simply pausing to take in the beauty of the changing season.

This time of year invites us to notice the small wonders — the extraordinary quality of winter light, the peaceful solitude of a beach walk, and the sense of community that shines through every smile and “hello” at Louse Point, Gerard Drive, or Landing Lane.

We are deeply grateful for YOU — our friends, neighbors, and fellow stewards of this remarkable place. Your dedication to protecting Accabonac’s waters, coastlines, and estuaries inspires us daily.

And our work continues. In the coming months, APC will be refreshing our website, launching a new outreach program to more deeply connect with our local Latino community (we can’t wait to share more!), and strengthening our partnerships across the East End to further protect the land and water we all cherish.
