Seining and Sieving in the Accabonac
The Accabonac Protection Committee is pleased to sponsor a Seining and Sieving event taking place on August 26th in Accabonac Harbor.
It is described below in the words of the two marine researchers leading this event, Judith and Pete Weis:
“What lurks beneath the surface of our beautiful harbor? What are all those hungry birds looking for? With a seine net, a shovel and a sieve – and some volunteers – we’ll look in the water, the sand and the mud and answer these questions. This event will be suitable for people of all ages. Children must be accompanied by an adult.”
Everyone will meet at 10:00am at the Louse Point Road boat launch. In the event of rain, it will take place on Sunday, August 27th at 10:00 am. Please be advised that an East Hampton Beach Parking Permit is required for parking near the launch location.
We hope you can join us for this wonderful event!
